Attempts on Her Life

April 2014—University Heights Center

By Martin Crimp
Directed by Bobbin Ramsey

The audience is invited to a party where things quickly turn strange and bizarre. Following the action from room to room, a story emerges of a mysterious woman named Anne. Is she a terrorist, a mother, a porn star, or a car? As the script ricochets from absurd comedy to brutal reality and everywhere in between, the audience is plunged into an immersive experience that pushes the boundaries of traditional theatre. The play is a poignant examination of identity and community that asks probing questions about international conflict, gender roles, and a changing sense of personal identity.
